BALLPOINT ADVENTURES from 4/5/99: Billy & Barbie get Patronizing About Real Violence

I think this was the first time I referenced real world violence versus stick-figure violence...
...it would not be the last.  In fact, violence in the real world has gotten so bad, it passed the absurdity level Billy and Barbie practiced it in this very strip.  Billy would decapitate people for lying or driving poorly.  Now, in the middle east, you can get decapitated for being a journalist, a Christian, the wrong kind of Muslim, or for simply being in the way of one of the handful of extremist groups out there.  In a way, BALLPOINT ADVENTURES was prescient in a way I never wanted it to be. I mean, Kosovo in 1999 would be the very tip of the tip of the atrocity iceberg.
