This strip was hard to do because there was so much more I want to say about this. This comic started out as an ultra-violent reaction to the things I saw that were wrong in the world. I thought violence would be a fun/funny way to react to things that you would not normally react to violence with. Then the world met my violence and surpassed it.

 Dude. Khushoggi was apparently dismembered while still alive. As the comic says, we've been heading in this direction for a long time, which is why I have let the violence fall away from the comic over the past few years. Violence should not be the answer to everything that we, as a species use it for. Anger is the easiest of emotions to give into when challenged. But just because it's easy doesn't mean we should just roll with it. We are better than this. 

We just need to remember who we are as a species. We are humans and we are capable of untold horror but we're also capable of untold beauty.

Let's try to focus on that more, huh?

Getting back to the more violent roots of Ballpoint Adventures with this one!  Why?  Because the shoe fits! Go after the rights of ALL WOMEN when pretty much anyone can buy a gun and kill someone suggests that you believe there is something inherently violent about a woman.  Statistically, it's much safer to assume that about us men.  I mean, how many wars have been fought by women?  Pretty sure it's none.

Weird how men are the ones trying to limit women's right to "kill" but think war is just fine and dandy.

Well, this is an ironically timed classic BALLPOINT ADVENTURES comic, considering what is happening this week in Washington DC... now, just a reminder, Billy only fake kills people.  Don't consider anything you see in this comic as an endorsement of violence.  Seriously though, fake killing is more fun than real killing, for a lot of reasons, including the part where you don't have to go to prison or the electric chair for it.

I used to feel that this comic strip was 100% accurate for all people. It's still absurd, to me, to censor violence in movies, TV, comics and video games on the grounds that it influences people to become violent.  My view now, 16 years later however, is a bit more nuanced...
